The Ghost School

Noah was seven years old, and he loved learning new things. He asked many questions every day. He asked questions at breakfast. He asked questions at school. He even asked questions before going to sleep.

One night, Noah could not sleep. The moon was bright, and the room was very quiet. Then Noah saw something strange outside his window. A soft, glowing light floated past.

Noah sat up in bed. “What is that?” he whispered.

The light moved slowly, like it wanted Noah to follow it. Noah put on his slippers and tiptoed outside. The glowing light floated down the street and stopped near an old building.

Noah’s eyes grew wide. It looked like a school. But Noah had never seen this school before. The building was old and tall. The windows glowed softly. The door slowly opened by itself. Above the door, a sign appeared: WELCOME TO GHOST SCHOOL.

Noah felt a little nervous, but also very excited. He took a deep breath and walked inside. The hallway was full of floating lights. The floor did not make any sound when Noah walked. Then he saw them. Ghosts.

But they were not scary at all. They were smiling. They were floating. Some were reading books. Some were laughing. Some were racing down the hallway.

A gentle ghost floated toward Noah. “Hello,” she said kindly. “I am Miss Whisp.” She glowed like a soft cloud. “Welcome to Ghost School, Noah.”

Noah blinked. “You know my name?”

Miss Whisp smiled. “The school knows curious children.”

A bell rang. Dinggg! The bell rang without anyone touching it.

“Time for class,” Miss Whisp said. She led Noah into a classroom. The chalkboard wrote by itself: LESSON ONE: INVISIBILITY.

Ghost children floated to their seats. Miss Whisp clapped her hands. “Today, we learn how to turn invisible,” she said.

One ghost raised his hand. “Like this?” He disappeared—except for his shoes. Everyone laughed.

“Oops,” Miss Whisp said. “Practice makes perfect.”

Noah tried too. He closed his eyes and wished very hard. For a moment, his hand faded. “Look!” Noah shouted.

“You did it!” the ghost kids cheered.

The bell rang again. Dinggg! “Next class!” Miss Whisp said.

They floated outside to a big open space. Professor Boo was waiting. He was a round ghost with tiny glasses. “Welcome to Flying Class!” he said.

“Rule one,” Professor Boo said, “do not bump into walls.” Then he bumped into a wall. BONK! Everyone laughed.

Noah floated up slowly. “Whoa!” he said. He floated too high and touched the ceiling. “I’m stuck!”

Professor Boo gently pulled him down. “Good try,” he said. “Flying takes control.”

The bell rang again. Dinggg! Now it was time for potion class. The room was full of colorful bottles. The pots bubbled and popped.

Miss Whisp spoke carefully. “Follow instructions.” A ghost mixed the wrong bottles. POP! His ears began to glow green.

“Oh dear,” Miss Whisp said.

Noah followed the steps carefully. His potion turned bright blue and sparkled. “Well done,” Miss Whisp said.

Suddenly, the bell did not ring. Instead, the lights flickered. “Oh no,” Professor Boo said. “The magic bell is missing!”

The bell was very important. Without it, the school would disappear forever. “We need help,” Miss Whisp said.

Noah stepped forward. “I can help,” he said. The ghost students cheered.

Noah used what he learned. He turned invisible to search. He flew down hallways. He followed glittery potion drops. Finally, he found the bell behind a floating bookshelf.

Noah rang it. DINGGG! The school glowed bright again.

“You did it!” the ghosts cheered. Miss Whisp placed a glowing badge on Noah’s shirt. “You are always welcome here,” she said.

The sky outside turned pink. Morning was coming. The school began to fade. “Goodbye,” Noah said. “See you again,” the ghosts said.

Noah blinked. He was back in his bed. On his shirt was the glowing badge. Noah smiled. He knew it was real. Learning was magical. And somewhere, a ghost school waited for him.
