Hello, I'm Nia Lark. Writer, Dreamer, Illustrator, Bedtime magic maker.

I'm Nia Lark: that side of me that sees magic in the falling rain, hears the lullabies in the wind, and believes that some great story lies behind every little incident. When I'm not writing, I'm drawing the characters that live in my head, giving faces to the creatures, children, and wanderers that wander through my imagination. Words and illustrations are two halves of the same heart for me.

I consider myself a fiction writer, having pursued this passion since I was old enough to write. Within the past five years, I have turned that passion into a profession. My books are small windows on other worlds, sometimes well-dressed, sometimes wild, but always enchanted. I also ghostwrote for other people, assisting dreamers and thinkers in bringing their tales to the surface. And yes, I continue to ghostwrite for anyone who has a tale to share but no guide to help navigate it.

How LitsLib Was Born

LitsLib started as a spark, a space where tales could be made magical, cosy, and innocuous for wee minds. As a fantasy writer who sees magic in moonlight and meaning in myths, I wished for a place where families could enjoy imaginative, heartwarming tales, without ever having to second-guess the content.

And so I built LitsLib not only as a library of stories, but also as a sanctuary, a home where books bridge the gaps, and bedtime is a ritual that binds the family close. In a world turning faster and faster by the second, I think books have the power to hold us back and unite us.

Why Stories Matter

To me, Stories are not just stories. They're soft landing places at the end of a noisy day. They're where imaginations bloom, fears are reduced, and dreams take root.

Some of my earliest memories are of lying under a blanket as my parents read fairy tales to me. They never wasted time, they invested it in love, values, and a sense of wonder. That is the kind of warmth I want to wrap around every story I tell: a whisper at bedtime that says, "You're safe. You're loved. You matter."

My Writing Philosophy

In my view, every story has its heartbeat. A calming story to a fussy child or a grand adventure in a fantasy land and back, stories can calm us, move us, and stay with us long after we have turned the last page.

My task? To craft stories that stay with you. Stories that feel like home, and at times, like fleeing home.

A lot of that philosophy was quietly shaped by One Piece. That story lives in me in a way I can't fully explain, only that it changed how I understand adventure, friendship, and what makes a story worth telling. The best journeys, I learned, are not about where you are going. They're about who is beside you on the ship. That belief lives in everything I write.

My Quirky Creativity

I just cannot help myself; I find a story everywhere.

Two cats dashing down an alley? Obviously, secret agents in the middle of a mission. (Speaking of cats, I have two of my own. They're chaotic, dramatic, and convinced they're the main characters of every story I write. They're probably right.)

A lazy cloud floating in the sky? Reminds me of a dragon sleeping mid-flight, dreaming of islands nobody has mapped yet.

One shoe on the road? Certainly abandoned by a runaway princess who wanted adventure and didn't have time to pack properly.

A man eating a strange fruit by the sea? In my mind, he just unlocked a Devil Fruit power and doesn't know it yet.

To me, the world is not what it is; it's what it can be, if you dream big enough.

The Illustrator Behind the Words

Writing the story is only half of it. The other half is seeing it.

I illustrate characters, the ones that live in my stories and the ones that live only in my sketchbook for now. There is something deeply satisfying about giving a character a face, a posture, an expression that says everything the words have not said yet. My illustration style leans toward the whimsical and warm, because that is the world I want to build: one where even the monsters look like they might share their lunch with you.

If you have ever read a book and wished you could see what the characters actually looked like, I understand that feeling completely. It is exactly why I draw them myself.
