Hi, I’m Usaid Liaquat, writing under the pen name Raze Edgar, a fiction writer drawn to the shadows between words, the questions that have no clean answers, and the stories that dare to live in the uncomfortable in-between.

I have loved stories for as long as I can remember. As a child, I didn’t just read books; I fell into them and always came out a little changed. That wonder never left me. It simply grew darker and deeper as I grew older. Now, I follow it into the stories no one else wants to tell, the ones that begin with questions no one dares to ask. What if the world is stranger than we think? What if people are more broken, more beautiful, and more terrifying than they appear?

My writing travels between two very different worlds: soft, cosy bedtime tales for the smallest dreamers and darker, more thoughtful fiction for teens and adults who enjoy stories that make them think long after the last page. To me, these worlds are not contradictions. They are different expressions of the same craft, told at different volumes. One invites young readers into worlds of wonder, comfort, and imagination; the other ventures into uncertainty, complexity, and the parts of life that resist easy answers.

My writing doesn’t stay in safe or simple places. I’m drawn to characters who aren’t clearly good or bad, to worlds that feel almost normal but have something just slightly off about them, and to feelings that are difficult to put into words. Whether I’m writing for children discovering the magic of stories or older readers exploring the shadows beneath the surface, I believe fiction can do more than entertain. It can comfort, challenge, awaken curiosity, and stay with us long after the story ends.

Every story I write starts with a question and ends with another. Whether I’m creating a gentle tale for a child drifting off to sleep or a darker story for a reader searching for something deeper, I write for people who want fiction that stays with them. If my words find you in a quiet moment and make your world feel a little bigger, a little more beautiful, or a little more mysterious, then I have done exactly what I set out to do.
